Energy Management Programs
Energy Grants, Rebates, & Lighting Programs
Energy Grants and Rebates are available to C&I accounts including businesses, industrial and process plants, schools, institutions, governments and agricultural. Grant and Rebate funds are available for but not limited to the following types of electric equipment: lighting, premium efficient motors, adjustable speed drives, compressed air systems, refrigeration, HVAC, controllers for beverage machines and door heaters on refrigerated cases, well water pre-cooler and waste heat exchangers for dairy equipment. Where applicable, it is recommended that ENERGY STAR® qualified products be implemented. See www.energystar.gov for current product listing and criteria. Backup generator and power factor correction projects are not eligible. Equipment installed to improve energy efficiency must maintain a minimum power factor of 90%.
The C&I Custom Energy Grant program provides funds to qualifying customers for installing energy efficient electric equipment in retrofit or new installations. The program is intended to encourage projects that best meet the unique needs of each customer. The C&I Custom Energy Grant may not be used to rebate equipment for which GRE has already developed a specific rebate amount. The new/proposed energy efficient project must meet or exceed the current city, state or federal energy code. Please contact Meeker Cooperative Light and Power Assn. for Grant criteria.

Large Single Phase Power
- Fixed Charge — $60
- Demand Charge
- June, July, August — $9.95/KW
- Other months — $6.95/KW
- Energy Charge — $.08/kWh
Minimum Charge: The minimum monthly charge shall be the $60 fixed charge, plus the Special Construction Charge, if applicable, plus $1 per KVA of installed transformer capacity in excess of 25 KVA of transformer capacity.
Small Three Phase Power
- Fixed Charge — $46
- Energy Charge
- June, July, August — $.123/kWh
- Other months — $.103/kWh
Minimum Charge: The minimum monthly charge shall be the $46 fixed charge for installations not to exceed 15 KVA of transformer capacity. For services requiring more than 15 KVA of transformer capacity, The minimum shall be increased by $1 per KVA of installed transformer capacity in excess of 15 KVA.
Large Three Phase Power

If required transformer is 350 KVA or more. Requires stand-by generators with automatic start with capacity to supply the entire load for that service.

Available for general service if required transformer capacity is 50 KVA or greater but less than 350 KVA. Requires stand-by generators with automatic start and the capacity to supply the entire load for that service.

Available to all members requiring service to pumps and irrigation equipment subject to Meeker Cooperative rules and regulations and execution of an Electric Service Agreement.

Non-Control Penalty
Irrigation operators and/or irrigation equipment that fail to control irrigation systems over Meeker Cooperative’s monthly peak will be charged the monthly demand charge, non-control penalty and a demand charge based on coincidental supplemental wholesale demand (Coincidental Billing Demand). Coincidental Billing Demand shall be defined as the member’s highest 15-minute KW demand that coincides with Meeker Co-op’s monthly peak as determined by Great River Energy and East River Cooperative Electric. The Coincidental Demand Charge shall be adjusted each year to equal the Supplemental Demand Charge.
Power Factor Adjustment
The consumer agrees to maintain as near unity power factor as practicable. The Association reserves the right to measure such power factor at any time. Should such measurements indicate that the average power factor is less than 90 percent, the demand for billing purposes shall be the demand as recorded by the demand meter multiplied by 90 percent and divided by the percent power factor.
NOTE: All rates are subject to applicable sales tax and a Power Cost Adjustment (PCA). The PCA is a charge or credit on your monthly bill to pass through increases or decreases in the cost of purchased power. The Billing Demand for the month shall be the maximum recorded 15-minute integrated demand in kilowatts. The Coincidental Billing Demand shall be defined as the member’s highest 15-minute KW demand that coincides with Meeker Cooperative’s monthly peak as determined by Great River Energy. The Coincidental Demand Charge shall be adjusted each year to equal the GRE Supplemental Demand Charge.
Deposits
Small Three Phase Service: Every new service application requires a soft credit check from On-Line Utility Services. If that check is negative, a $400 deposit (minimum) is required to obtain electric service. This deposit will be held until the member leaves the Meeker Co-op service area. The deposit will be applied to the final bill and any balance returned to the member. Meeker Cooperative pays interest annually on all deposits. Members 60 days past due or disconnected for a delinquent account will pay a minimum $400 deposit or a two-month average bill (whichever is greater).
Large Single Phase, Large Three Phase, Large Power Peak Alert, Irrigation Services: A deposit of $20 times the total installed KVA shall be required on all Demand Billed accounts for any entity without good credit as determined by the Cooperative.
