Summary: Meeker Cooperative Light and Power Assn is accepting applications for an Energy Management Consultant/Staking Technician. MCLP serves 8,600 meters over its 1,900 miles of electric lines and is located in Litchfield, MN.

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of rebuilding or installing electrical service; heating and cooling equipment requirements, water heaters, etc.; knowledge of energy management programs, energy conservation and efficiency programs and the ability to promote such services with members and contractors; and be able to plan/coordinate the installation of services including staking, generating work orders and accurate mapping. Candidate must be able to perform maintenance and inspection of energy management installations and have the ability to respond to member billing questions.  The successful candidate must have strong communication skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office software, and the ability to learn new computer programs. Training: two years of vocational training in HVAC, electrical or other technical field or a combination of education and experience to provide equivalent knowledge preferred. Summary:  Meeker Cooperative is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Accounting Clerk.  The Accounting Clerk will perform general accounting duties, the monthly billing process, the capital credit process and accounts payable.  Strong attention to detail, accuracy and problem solving skills are required.                     

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare the monthly bill calculation, member statements and month end processing.
• Process and post payment transactions daily.
• Perform the capital credit process.
• Prepare and enter accounts payable.  Maintain vendor files.
• Prepare and analyze financial information as requested.
• Assist auditors as required and prepare information needed in the audit process.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:  A two year degree in Accounting or six years of directly related responsible experience is preferred.

Computer Skills:  Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Access is desired.  Experience with accounting and billing software is preferred.

Work Schedule Requirements:  May be asked to work additional hours to meet deadlines.
